Buyer-Product Manager

Position Overview

The Buyer-Product Manager position will be accountable for execution of purchase orders by performing responsibilities of product development; sourcing, order placement, projection tracking, and follow up. Ideal candidate will have experience sourcing in Commercial, Industrial and/or Consumer Electronics industry.


  • Oversee sourcing and negotiating best cost from competing vendors
  • Identify potential new vendors and create relationships
  • Manage variety of issues with suppliers that may arise including inspection failure, pricing, discrepancies, and production issues that can affect delivery dates
  • Maintain and follow upon time & action calendar for pre-production samples
  • Interact with the Graphics, Industrial Design, and Marketing departments regarding all aspects of the product development process
  • Oversee Supplier ISO9001 approvals
  • Purchase order creation, maintenance and tracking with overseas vendors for on time delivery.
  • Work with other Buyer/Product Managers within the company.
  • PO creation, monitoring of approvals and distribution to suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with:
    • Suppliers
    • Sales personnel
    • Marketing
    • Supply Chain
    • Warehouse and logistic staff
    • Corporate support staff – accounting, business analysts, etc
  • Any other duties as assigned

Skills & Requirements

  • 3 Years’ experience in Purchasing/Sourcing field
  • Experience working with global factories
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong product sensibility and ability to identify and capitalize on current trends
  • Able to multi-task in a challenging environment.
  • Strong understanding of the product development process.
  • Additional related experience working in manufacturing and sourcing with global vendors.
  • Proven negotiation skills and experience with vendor management
  • Proficiency of the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

Job Type: Full-time

Education and/or Experience
Requires 3 years of wholesale, commercial or Industrial distribution experience in similar role. Preference given for a four-year degree in Businesses or related field but not necessary. Previous experience with electronics/electrical distribution industry is preferred.

Full time – Monday – Friday 9:00-5:00PM
Medical benefits/401K option. Salary: commensurate with experience
